Spring is always such a busy time but I did manage to get some small works finished this weekend... the first is from a photo taken on our trip to NYC last month when we picked Cat up from college... it's an arrow to the parking garage and I loved the colors... ...This is the first of the NYC series.. titled "Enter"... 16" x 20".

The second is for the Different Stroke challenge hosted by Karin Jurick... I had purchased the canvas to paint the last challenge of hers (taxis on Madison Ave in NYC) but just ran out of time.. but it was perfect this challenge as well! She provided a black and white image and we were to fill in the colors... I went with the spring colors.. my favorite!

8" x 24"

Both of these are great. The sign is really eye catching. I also like the colors you chose for the Different Strokes challenge!

Both are great paintings, Sally!
Did you make the Fri. deadline for the Oh State Fair submission?
I didn't have anything setting around that was worthy of submitting. Opposite from a Boyscout...Always unprepared.

Really enjoyed your blog and your submission for the DSDF challenge this time. Also, didn't know about the Art for Animals until I saw your blog. Thanks for the beautiful work and the Art for Animals info.

Both are superb; I love seeing your paintings. Have you begun working on your bottle tree? I should send you a picture of mine.

Very nice job on the DSDF challenge! And I LOVE "Enter" - it is always amazing to me how something so every day ordinary can become such an amazing work of art!

Thank you all for your kind words!! I really appreciate you all taking the time to comment!
Thanks Jean.. New York is so full little nuggets like this.. I can't wait to do more!
Thanks for your kind words Kerri!
Dean- I did get my pieces submitted but won't hear for a few weeks... I'll let you know.. I'm right there with you on the prepared thing.. maybe we should start our own club.. our motto can be 'we wing it'..
Anne Marie- Sheila is awesome and her project is so inspirational!! Glad you found it!
Thanks Ann- This scene could have been in my backyard.. I live in farm country!
Thanks Christine.. I used my favorite spring colors!
Angela- I would love to see a picture of your bottle tree.. I still haven't made mine.. I'm pretty sure my husband is tired of all my bottles sitting around.. if I don't make a tree soon, I'm afraid they will disappear!
Thank you Maria.. I enjoyed painting them both!
Lauren- Thanks! I try to look for the beauty in things that other people might miss.. just the challenge I give myself when choosing subject matter..
Beetle- thanks for popping in! I really hope Adebanji gets enough votes.. he is VERY talented and I can just imagine what he could do in New York!
