This painting has been sitting on our mantle to dry this week... (there is no room in the studio due to the abundance of treasures!) and it has been bothering me since I put it up there so today I took it down and added the cord off the right side of the painting.. I think it grounds the phone a bit.

Wow... Telephone to the past....
I remember using those and how heavy those bakelite handsets were.

I remember these things too, we used to hate it when someone's number had a 0. Let alone more than one of them. I think the wire does a nice job of grounding it. Plus, where would that phone be without the wire?

Nice painting.

The added detail at the base of the phone does a lot to ground it as well. The wire is a very nice touch too.

You should bring the colored jars painting to critique Wednesday.

Hi Sally- I am so glad you found me- now I have found YOU! I absolutely love your work: Subject matter, varied approaches, compositions, blah blah blah!!! You have stirred feelings of nastalgia... Until last year- I had lived my entire life in Ohio between Toledo and Columbus. I have relatives in Wooster, Mansfield, Cleveland and Toledo.

I am looking forward to following your work and hearing from you. -Tom

Sally, I just sent you an email about how to comment and I just figured it out. Now I am going to go back to my blog and see if there is a comment button under my post. By the way, your work is very cool.. Diane Radack

I agree...the cord anchored it. Very nice! I love the simplicity.
