Sorry I haven't posted in a few days... my computer had a nasty virus so I had to send it out to have it removed... GRRR!

I painted this last week but needed my photoshop program to be able to post it. This is a very cool old bottle.. this one is not from the ravine out back.. but I did find some old mason jars there this weekend that I am going to paint this week! I am amazed at how many old bottles have survived intact through 30-50 years of weather! It is always so much fun to dig out there... I never know what I will find!

36"x 48"

I also painted a small piece for the Different Strokes challenge ... it seemed appropriate since that's what we had for dinner Saturday night! I love Sushi! 8"x 10"

I find it interesting that your brushstrokes are tight on your large paintings and loose on your small ones!

As usual these are wonderful!

Hello Sally - I saved your blog a little earlier this evening and now I can't remember what led me here, maybe it was the DSFDF blog. I have enjoyed going back and looking at all of your paintings, especially your larger ones.

I have a very large bottle tree and I am always on the hunt for old, interesting, or unusual glass bottles. My family has learned, as they roll their eyes, also, to just tolerate my appreciation for "the good stuff". I have no desire to paint glass, but I certainly want to come back here and enjoy yours. For now, I'll continue to appreciate my tree and the beautiful colors and reflections and continue to enjoy the hunt for the perfect bottle and whatever treasures I come up with.

By the way, great sushi!

Hello Sally
This bottle looks amazing.
I thought it was a photo at first. then realised not.
How clever to create photorelism but yet give a sence of immediacy. Astounding!!!
Regards

Thank you all for your comments! Laura.. That actually went through my mind too.. somehow I think loose bigger looks messy for me, and I can't paint tighter smaller because my eyes are bad... I don't know... that's my theory for now! :) Angela... a bottle tree?!? I had to look it up and I am SO DOING THAT!! How fun! I actually went back to the ravine and dug up a bunch more bottles! I LOVE that idea! MY favorite scene in the movie "Ray" is in the beginning where the bottles are all hanging in the tress... but we don't have any trees near the house... now I'm gonna make my own! Thanks for the idea!
